Knell is the final boss of The Quarter Game. After living the dull life of being paid unfairly in a boring office, he decided to live his life dangerously in the black market. To ensure that he can safely invest in this risky plan, he killed his parents for inheritance money. He succeeds in many heists, gaining expensive technology to sell at a high price. In The Quarter Game, he tricks Shirokawa Incorporated's CEO into thinking that he is a proper investor who wants to deal business. In truth, he is aiming to obtain the company's new technology that would be used by the military. Gaining this would give him a large flow of money. However, he fails. Mashiro spared his life, under the terms that he learns to make money truthfully by starting his own restaurant.
